From setup to service

Let’s take a look at how eJono works, from creating a queue to serving the last visitor.

The service is completely free.

There’s no account to create and no app to download.

Visitors open a link on their phone, while staff manage the queue from a separate screen.

Name it and choose a flow

I’ll start by creating a queue and giving it a clear name.

The description is optional.

Use it for a short practical note, such as where visitors will be called.

A one-stage queue works well for a straightforward service: visitors wait, and staff call them when it’s their turn.

Two stages work well when people order first and collect later.

Let’s begin with one stage.

QR code, poster and display

When you create a queue, its links and QR codes are ready to use.

The visitor link is for joining.

The queue display and printable poster each have their own link.

The management link is private and gives staff access to all queue controls.

Share it only with staff.

The printable poster shows the queue name, a QR code and a short instruction for joining.

Show live queue numbers

The queue display shows called numbers and a QR code for joining.

It works well in a waiting area.

You can adjust the call sound, text size and screen settings at the top.

Full screen works best on a separate display.

The numbers update as the queue moves forward.

Join and follow the queue

Visitors scan the QR code or open the join link on their own phone.

They don’t need to enter a name or contact details.

They join with one tap.

Their number appears straight away, and the page updates automatically as the queue moves forward.

Keep the page open.

In supported browsers, visitors can also turn on notifications.

That’s optional.

Visitors can leave the queue before their turn.

They confirm before leaving, and can join again later.

I’ll join again so we can see what happens when someone is called.

Add visitors and call next

Now I’ll open the private management link.

It should never be published or sent to visitors.

The staff view shows the waiting list, called numbers and queue controls.

Staff can also turn on notifications when someone joins.

The Add visitor button is useful when someone doesn’t have their own phone.

Visitors who scan the QR code appear automatically.

Call the next person when it’s their turn.

Join and follow the queue

The number appears as now serving in the staff view, while the visitor’s phone shows it’s their turn.

Add visitors and call next

When service is complete, mark the visitor as served.

You can undo the action if you make a mistake.

Open Queue tools to find the links again.

You can also close the queue to new visitors and reopen it later.

Closing the queue only stops new visitors from joining.

People already in the queue keep their place.

When you’re ready to take more visitors, reopen the queue from the same menu.

Staff notifications are optional and depend on the browser’s notification settings.

QR code, poster and display

Print the poster and place it on a counter or at the entrance.

Its QR code goes straight to this queue.

Show live queue numbers

The public queue display keeps visitors up to date without them needing to ask staff about their place.

Order → preparation → pickup

Next, let’s create a two-stage queue for orders and pickup.

Choose two stages when visitors order first and collect later.

The queue name and optional description work the same way.

I’ll create the queue, open its join page and join as a visitor.

Join and follow the queue

Visitors get a number straight away.

It stays the same as the order is prepared and collected.

Order → preparation → pickup

In the staff view, Call next for ordering starts the first stage.

When an order is being prepared, move its number to the preparation list.

Once it’s ready, open Preparing and call the visitor to collect their order.

Visitors are called for pickup in the order their orders are completed.

Join and follow the queue

The visitor’s phone shows when the order is ready to collect.

Order → preparation → pickup

After collection, mark the order as collected.

Use one stage for a simple service, or two stages when ordering and pickup happen separately.

No names or contact details

Don’t include personal information in a queue name or description.

eJono doesn’t need a visitor’s name or contact details.

Queues and their numbers are automatically deleted after 30 days.

eJono doesn’t use analytics or ad tracking.

You can switch the interface between Finnish, English and Swedish.

That’s the full flow: create a queue, share the QR code and manage turns from your phone.

Create a queue

Create a queue and share its QR code with visitors.
